Semi-translucent paillettes with glass beaded loops trim the sheer illusion bodice on this elegant vintage two-piece dress and jacket set, circa early 1940s.

The fanciful dress consists of a jet black rayon crepe with cap sleeves, jewel neckline, nude voile bodice with a decorative ‘fish scale’ appearance made up of hanging swags of amber toned beads and sequins – along with a front ruched skirt, hidden metal side zipper, and single tie closure in back as shown.

The matching bolero jacket has short draped sleeves, hand stitched silk lining along the inside back shoulders and sleeves, self covered buttons, and tucked waist with slightly flared peplum.

There are no labels.

Very good condition, with all beadwork intact.
